Growing up without a lot of clothes, I’ve always loved fashion and dressing up. Dolly showed me that there’s nothing wrong with loving beauty, expressing yourself, and being unapologetically yourself. She taught me to not let other people’s opinions define me, but to stay true to who I am. And in my own life, I’m breaking generational barriers, daring to dream bigger, to step outside of what was familiar, and to create a life, they may have once felt impossible for someone from my background. I carry my family sacrifices, and where I come from with so much pride, but I also know I’m allowed to be become something different. I can honor where I came from while still breaking barriers for where I’m going.✨ most of all, I admired how Dolly stayed grounded in her faith, her roots, and her authenticity, no matter how successful she became.
